Intersecting identities that inform my practice: I am a white gay man from the Midwest who is a son, brother, uncle and friend. I utilize my lived experiences in my identities and roles to support my clients.

Background & Approach: I am a seasoned social worker who has a passion for supporting youth and families. After receiving both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work, I spent the majority of my career supporting kids and families in a variety of systems including public schools and state entities. I am passionate about supporting our unhoused LGBTQIA+ youth, and spent many years developing  mental health services for kids and families. Most recently, I worked in the field of suicide prevention throughout the State of Colorado. My approach is person-centered and one that relies heavily on strengths-based concepts.  I believe in honoring my client’s lived experiences and supporting them through their journey with a relational approach. Empowerment, self-acceptance and a move toward radical change drive my work with clients.

Theoretical & Clinical Orientation: My theoretical approach is rooted in the use of the following: Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, LGBTQIA+ Theories, Trauma Informed Care, and Mindfulness Practices.

Licensure, Certifications, & Fellowships: Clinical Social Work Candidate (SWC. 0000001445)

  • Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Creighton University, 2005

  • Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, 2010

Outside of Work: I most enjoy hiking with my two pups, Millie and Phineas. Staying active is a priority for me, so I am always up for a game of pickleball, a bike ride or a walk around the park with a chai latte. I am also a lifelong fan of the Creighton Bluejays.
