Title: Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) & Addiction Counselor Candidate (ADDC)
Intersecting identities that inform my practice: In my work as a therapist, I am shaped by my identities of being a hetero man of color. Growing up multiracial taught me to move between different cultural worlds, value systems, and expectations around family, emotion, and masculinity As a man in a caregiving role, I stay attentive to power and gender dynamics in the therapy room and intentionally create space where vulnerability is welcomed rather than judged. Together, these intersecting identities lead me to value cultural nuance, strong community connections, and a style of communication that is both direct and compassionate in my therapeutic practice.
Background & Approach: I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as your full, authentic self—no filters, no pretending, no judgment. My path into this work has been shaped by service, resilience, and a deep respect for people’s stories. I began my career in the United States Army, then worked with at-risk youth and as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, experiences that showed me how powerful support and understanding can be in moments of struggle.
My passion for mental health grew as I watched loved ones work through their own challenges and begin to heal the parts of themselves that had been hurting for a long time. I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State University and am currently pursuing my Licensed Addiction Counselor Certification. Together, we’ll explore your story in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space—naming sources of pain, gently challenging unhelpful beliefs, and nurturing your capacity for growth and self-compassion.
I hold the LGBTQ+ community close to my heart and feel honored to work with individuals across the spectrum of gender, sexuality, and identity. I strive to create an affirming space where all parts of you are welcome—whether you’re exploring identity, navigating coming out, processing religious or family rejection, healing from trauma, or simply needing a place where you do not have to explain or defend who you are. I pay close attention to intersectionality and how race, culture, family, and social messages can shape your experience, and I tailor therapy to your unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
My work is client-centered and collaborative. In our time together, you’re invited to show up just as you are—overwhelmed, hopeful, numb, angry, or unsure. Healing doesn’t have to be rushed; we move at your pace, and I’ll walk alongside you as you navigate this part of your journey.
